The Open Education Association is a new national organization designed to strengthen coordination, advocacy, and shared resources across the open education field. To make the largest impact, national efforts must be grounded in and responsive to local and regional work. In this highly interactive workshop, we’ll work with the Florida OER community to explore what support, collaboration, and connection can look like across the state through ongoing coordination and shared learning. Participants will join a lively conversation and collaborate to map Florida’s strengths, needs, and opportunities using an interactive Padlet. We’ll explore questions such as: Where is strong work already happening that could be better connected or amplified? What shared barriers do practitioners face? What cross-institutional or statewide wins feel within reach with stronger coordination and shared infrastructure? The information collected throughout the workshop will be shared back with the FL OER Summit community and will also help guide the association’s national agenda. Come ready to co-design the future of how a national association can collaboratively work with and support Florida’s open education practitioners.
