Join OPEN FL as we wrap up Day 1 of the OER Summit with an engaging mixer featuring several of our national partners. This session offers an opportunity to learn more about these organizations and the ways they support FLVC and institutions across the state. The following organizations will participate in the mixer:
Open Education Network (OEN) is a collaborative community founded at the University of Minnesota that advances the use of open educational resources and practices, including the Open Textbook Library. Members such as Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC) both contribute to and benefit from the global open education ecosystem, and institutions can participate as Allied Members through FLVC. OEN’s Manifold platform is part of OPEN FL’s Publishing Program.
Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) partners with states across the Southern region, including Florida, to improve public education from early childhood through doctoral education and workforce readiness. SREB supports policymakers with independent data and recommendations and helps educators strengthen student learning through professional development, coaching, and proven practices.
Community College Consortium for OER (CCCOER) promotes the adoption of open educational policies, practices, and resources to expand equitable access to education, particularly for underserved students, while supporting academic freedom and faculty choice. Its membership includes hundreds of colleges and consortia, including FLVC, across the United States and Canada. CCCOER is part of Open Education Global.
LibreTexts is a nonprofit, user-friendly open education platform that enables educators to create, customize, and share accessible, interactive textbooks, homework, and ancillary materials. It collaborates with partners such as FLVC to support open education initiatives, institutional publishing programs, and curriculum development. The LibreTexts platform is part of OPEN FL’s Publishing Program.
Pressbooks develops software to support new models of book publishing. Its platform provides powerful, easy-to-use tools for creating and sharing accessible, interactive digital books and learning resources. Pressbooks partners with thousands of individuals and hundreds of institutions worldwide to expand access to free or low-cost educational content for students. The Pressbooks platform is part of OPEN FL’s Publishing Program.
