We may not know exactly what our next OER assignment will be, but we can safely assume that it will be challenging. How do we make sure our open education community is prepared? This collaborative and interactive session welcomes participants to co-design a practical, community-supported roadmap for advancing their Open Education initiatives. Participants will be encouraged to work together to reflect on our current OER efforts, identify challenges and untapped potential, and collaboratively map next steps. The session emphasizes collaboration, building empathy, and finding community as bulwarks against daily challenges and threats to open ideology. All attendees will be asked to draw upon and share their lived experience candidly. Facilitated discussion using a Mural board will prompt generative ideation, balance audacious goals with practical tactics, and democratize input in a safe environment. Participants will be encouraged to continue supporting each other beyond the workshop. The framework for the workshop remixes the Equity-Centered Community Design model developed by Creative Reaction Lab.
